Christian Funerals at St. Patrick

At St. Patrick, we walk with families in faith and love during times of loss. As a Catholic parish, we follow the Order of Christian Funerals, which reflects our belief in the dignity of the human body and the hope of the Resurrection. This means there is a sacred order to how we honor the deceased, rooted in centuries of Church tradition and guided by pastoral care.

The Church permits cremation, provided it is not chosen as a denial of belief in the resurrection of the body. Out of reverence, cremated remains should be laid to rest in a sacred place, such as a cemetery or columbarium. The Church does not permit scattering remains, dividing them, or keeping them at home, as these practices do not reflect the respect due to the body.

We are here to support you through this time with compassion, clarity, and prayer. Please contact us early in the process so we can help guide you through the funeral rites.
